Wine Highway Weekend

The Winegrowers Association of Georgia is holding our 7th Wine Highway Weekend Friday-Sunday March 23rd, 24th, & 25th, 2012. Each year this event has grown in popularity as more people have discovered the National and International Award Winning Fine Wines that are made right here in Georgia, from Georgia Grown Grapes.  

Participating wineries include, Blackstock Vineyards, Cartecay Vineyards, Cavender Creek Vineyards, Crane Creek Vineyards, Frogtown Cellars, Habersham Winery, Sautee Nacoochee Vineyards, Tiger Mountain Vineyards, Wolf Mountain Vineyards, and Yonah Mountain Vineyards

Come and discover the superb wines, outstanding experience our wineries have to offer, and the hospitality our Affiliate members offer in the way of lodging, restaurants, and shopping!

You can purchase your Passport at any winery you where you begin your Wine Highway experience. Cost is $25.00 that gives you tastings at all 10 wineries and a souvenir glass!

Winery Specials:

Cartecay Vineyards: 

Cartecay Vineyards will offer live music on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, as well as offer complimentary light fare.

 

Habersham Winery:

Tom Conner of Pappy's Cooking Planks will be demonstrating the art of plank cooking and sampling some of his favorite recipes which will be paired with a selection of newly released Habersham wines.

 

Crane Creek

 

Wine Highway Passport holders visiting Crane Creek Vineyards will enjoy a soup and sandwich buffet on the Barn Swallow Pavilion.

 

Blackstock Vineyards

 

Blackstock Winery is offering tastings of 4 current releases plus two barrel samples of upcoming reserve wines to all wine highway passport holders.   In addition, Blackstock will be featuring a lunch menu by Chef Natalie and live Blues music both afternoons. 

 

Tiger Mountain Vineyards

Tiger Mountain Vineyards will feature music by the popular Mountain Hoo-Doo duo and its native American Norton wine in the newly renovated historic red barn  on Saturday, March 24, from 1 to 4 p.m., as well as tastings at the winery with Sweetgrass Dairy cheeses and artisan breads.  Wine highway visitors Friday  through Sunday will be eligible to enter a drawing for one bottle of Tiger Mountain’s 2010 Petit Manseng, with their receipt for any purchased wine. The 2010 Petit  recently won the first Jefferson Cup ever awarded a Georgia winery  and a silver medal in the revered San Francisco International, competing with the nation’s top Napa, Sonoma and other wines.

March 24 – Georgia Wine Highway Weekend Celebration with Fresh and Local Georgia Wines

The Winegrowers Association of Georgia is sponsoring its 6th annual Wine Highway Weekend on Friday, Saturday and Sunday March 23 - 25. Wineries and affiliate members will each have their own unique open-house, with many offering food and wine pairings, music, barrel and library wine tastings, discounts, drawings and other special attractions. The Beechwood Inn is offering a special dinner and lodging package featuring an evening with Southern Flair. The Saturday night event starts with live music by Mountain Hoodoo. Bring your “Wine Highway Weekend Passport” that you receive at member wineries for a $10.00 discount off of lodging.

Appetizers with wine, entertainment and dinner $85.00 per person, plus tax and gratuity. Music, wine and appetizers start at 5:30pm; sit down for dinner at 7:00pm.
