Off the Vine

Welcome to our first edition of “Off the Vine”, the Winegrowers Association of Georgia (WAG) Newsletter. We appreciate your interest in the happenings occurring in the Northeast Georgia Wine Country. Our goal is to make and promote Georgia Wines that are made from Georgia Grown Vinifera and French-American grapes. Membership requires a winery produce at least 1000 cases of wine made with Georgia Grown Vinifera or French American Grapes, or grow at least 5 acres of Vinifera or French American grapes. We currently have 9 winery/vineyard members (Blackstock Vineyard and Winery, Crane Creek Vineyards, Frogtown Cellars, Habersham Vineyards and Winery, Persimmon Creek Vineyards, Sharp Mountain Vineyards, Tiger Mountain Vineyards, Wolf Mountain Vineyards, and Yonah Mountain Vineyards). Our Vineyards offer many different experiences from fine dining to bring your own picnic basket and purchase a bottle of wine and enjoy the vineyards and beautiful scenery. We also have 40 Affiliate Members which consist of various types of lodging facilities, ranging from historic B&B’s to cabins and resorts. Restaurants make up another large part of our Affiliate Members serving an array of menus from sandwiches to 5 course meals. We also have Tasting Rooms, and other services all in hopes of making your visit a complete experience. In December we have our first Winter Wine Highway weekend on December 11th, 12th, & 13th. This will be a great opportunity to get away form the crowded shopping malls, and enjoy the award winning wines produced right here in Georgia. While on tour you can make your shopping easy with gifts of wine which everyone appreciates. You can also visit our Affiliate Members that offer wonderful gift options as well as “Gift Certificates” for those who are little difficult to by for.
